Have you had success from online dating sites?

So, what kind of success has anyone had from online dating sites. im not the most aggressive person when it comes to dating… actually quite reserved and shy. i am thinking about trying online dating sites, because i would think it would be a bit easier. anyway, im wondering what sites are the best, what ones are better then others, and if its actually worth it. im actually looking for a serious relationship, something meaningful. so, let me know. I wouldnt call this online dating but i met my bf of a year on myspace…wasnt intended but it happens…i think myspace is good because nobody is really "looking"….so u're more yourself on there versus an online dating people are on there trying to "sell" themselves…then u get with that person and 6 months later not what u thought…..

I have tried eharmony, and didn't get my monies worth whatsoever! I chatted with a couple guys, but nothing meaningful. I am also looking for a serious relationship and like you am very shy too. It's hard, trust I know exactly how you feel. Good luck in your search!

they are not free- but im guessing if u r shy it may be worth the money. i liked yahoo personals better than match.com- have not tried the eharmony thing- and i wont.

I know a few that have had success. They researched the site first and got information on the different dating sites. some sites have more certain policies to prove your identity, and some have serious daters and others looking for other activities. Read reviews. Site below got some simple demographics on users and other site information.
